  • A market : (i) that ensures the regular functioning of negotiations; (ii) whose access and operating conditions, admission requirements for listing, and transaction organization rules are established and approved by the competent authorities of the country of origin of the market.

  • Prudential corrections or restatements made on the different categories of capital.

  • The level and type of risk that an institution is willing to take on in its exposures and activities in order to achieve its strategic objectives and obligations.

  • A component of the overall governance framework within which the institution's risk strategy and policy are defined. This framework governs the decisions of the decision-making body regarding risk, clarifies and monitors compliance with the institution's risk appetite and risk limits in relation to its strategy. It also enables the detection, measurement, management, and control of all risks to which the institution is or could be exposed.

  • Derivation of the Bank's risk tolerance into limits at the various operational levels (risk event and/or activity).

  • The set of strategies, policies, and procedures put in place to ensure that any significant risk and associated risk concentration are detected, measured, limited, controlled, and mitigated, and that they are reported on, in a timely and comprehensive manner.

  • The on-balance-sheet and off-balance-sheet exposures of an institution weighted according to the risks it incurs. This amount defines the institution's risk level, from which its solvency ratio is calculated.
