The General Secretariat of the WAMU Banking Commission participates in several supervisory forums organized by the Francophone Banking Supervisors Group (GSBF), the Community of African Banking Supervisors (CSBA), the Committee of Banking Supervisors of West and Central Africa (CSBAOC), and the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ) Supervisory College (CSZMAO).
In addition to these initiatives, the General Secretariat of the WAMU Banking Commission maintains close cooperation with foreign peer regulators, particularly during supervisory colleges convened by home country authorities.
Furthermore, the General Secretariat maintains close relations with other sub-regional and international institutions and standard-setting bodies. In this regard, it engages with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, notably on matters relating to financial sector stability, and actively participates in activities organized by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Anti-Money Laundering Liaison Committee of the Franc Zone (CLAB), and the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA).
